This video is a single scene that briefly describes normal muscle structure, and function and how muscle trigger points are formed. The therapies for trigger point pain are summarized, and the procedure of dry needling is demonstrated. The various physiological mechanisms by which dry needling may relieve the pain of muscle trigger points and myofascial pain are illustrated and discussed.
